I was feeling "sick" again today (cough, cough), so I decided to make the most of my "sick day" and get our dossier documents county and state certified and sent off to our agency! Horray! Our adoption consultant suggested that we go ahead and send everything (minus the CIS approval), so that in case there is an error (please, no), we could take care of that while we CONTINUE TO WAIT for our CIS approval. :)
So, my sweet friend, Heidi, took the day to accompany me to all of these places and be my second set of hands and eyes to make sure all my i's were dotted and t's crossed. Heidi, YOU ROCK. Thank you so much!

The sweet lady at Fayette County Clerk's Office (She was a PRO at this certification stuff!)

Once we had visited the Jessamine, Fayette, and Franklin County Clerks' Offices, we headed to the Secretary of State's office in Frankfort. Look how pretty it is! We felt so "official" walking up those huge steps!
Heidi and I giving a "thumb's up" after we got the dossier state-certified.
(No offense to our 9th grade field trip earlier this year, but today's trip to Frankfort was WAY BETTER than visiting the Kentucky History Museum with those guys!) :)

Here it is! (Look at those beautiful golden seals!!!)
I left the boring papers out of the picture, like our birth and marriage certificates. They are not near as pretty as these Kentucky-sealed documents.

And off it goes!!! This sweet man has helped me ship a LOT of things so far for our adoption, so I asked him if he would be in our "life book" that we could one day show our sweet little guy. He was so funny.... he said, "Well, I guess!"
So, that was my "sick" day... one of the best ones yet! :) I don't plan to be sick any more this year (except for the day that our CIS approval comes--back to Frankfort on that day). I really do work most days--I promise.:)
Hopefully the mailman will bring us the Golden Ticket before the end of this week! Wouldn't that be AWESOME??? However, we've been told "up to 8 weeks," so this Friday will only be 6 weeks, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much (yeah right).
Thanks for following our journey!
