This is for all of those paper-chasing pro's out there....
We sent off our I 171H today (don't get excited yet), and when I got home from the post office, I got word that we should have written our "this is a true and exact copy..." statement either on the front of the document or on a separate sheet of paper. WE WROTE THIS ON THE BACK!!!! In the dossier handbook, I read that this was ok, but I guess I misunderstood???? We made a front/back copy of the I - 171H (because there's stuff written on the back of it, so I assumed they needed a copy of that part, too). And then, at the very bottom on the BACK, we wrote our statement, signed it, and had it notarized.
Any comments? Helpful hints? Did anyone else write on the back of theirs and it was ok?
Sorry to all of you who were waiting for a "celebration" story today... I'm waiting to hear back if we have to re-do everything we did today.... please, God, no. Please.

we did not make a double-sided copy (which i ended up being worried about...but it was fine).
i stuck our one-sided copy in the printer and printed out the statement (along with the addrees header thing) on the back side.
i then signed it and had it notarized. only one of us had to sign it.
it was accepted by CHI and they said it was fine!
hope this helps some...i know it can be nerve-racking let us know what you find out!

actually, i am pretty sure toni specifically told me NOT to do it on a seperate piece of paper...that is had to be on the back!

Erg! I dunno. The way we did it was attach a "cover page" to the I-171H with the "true & exact copy" statement on it. That cover page is what we signed and notarized etc. - I didn't make any marks on the copy of the I-171H form itself other than stapling it to everything else.
Oh, I hope it's not a problem!!
i have absolutely NO idea--i haven't done this before... but i'm praying, friend!... no matter what, God will work all this out... it stinks to have to wait, but the Lord is good... Psalm 37:7, "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him...." His hand has been in this the whole time, no need to fret!... i love you, sweet sister, and am praying!...
If I remember correctly (and it's been a while - but you seem to remember that all-important piece of paperwork the most!) we did ours on the back and it was fine - that was a year ago though...
