One year ago . . .

This picture was taken in Ethiopia after Angie had learned that we passed court and Jordan was legally our son! She was so sweet to grab Jordan for a while and spend some quality time with him, telling him all about us and helping him to know he was so super loved. Angie, you KNOW how very special you made this day for us. Thank you so very much, sweet friend!

As we are sleeping tonight, exactly one year ago to the day, my dear friend, Angie was meeting her sweet Silas for the very first time in Ethiopia. You can hop on over to her blog to check out their awesome family.

And also . . . on the exact same night . . . as Nate and I were sound asleep in our bed here in Kentucky (ok, Nate was asleep; I was awake thinking about what was happening clear across the ocean) Jordan Bezuneh Head would officially and legally become our son!!! Praise God!!!

Happy Ethiopian Court Passing Day!!! (April 28th, but like I said, it was really the night of the 27th . . . )

As many of you know, the days leading up to us FINALLY passing court were extremely trying. We "failed" a total of 4 times because of a missing piece of paperwork. I will be the first to admit that I honestly didn't know if Jordan was ever going to become a part of our family. It all seemed so impossible in the midst of that very difficult time.

However, God, is his great love and mercy toward us, did not give up on me, as I deserved, but he stuck with me in my doubt (and really harsh words and thoughts). So, once again, to God be all the glory! Only HE is the One who arranged our forever family, and only HE is the One whose timing is never early, never late, but always exactly perfect! We praise you, God, for your great love and faithfulness!
