Good morning! I've been awake since 2:30am, debating whether I should give in to the insomnia or not. Insomnia won.
Thankfully, sleep is usually not an issue for me, but every now and then, I drink one too many Dr. Pepper's, and this is what happens. The good news, you ask? When Jordan naps tomorrow afternoon, I too will nap. :) Life is good.

I woke up thinking about Easter eggs. Weird, I know.
Actually, I woke up with this verse in my head . . . which lead to me thinking on Easter eggs . . .
"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose CONFIDENCE is in Him . . . he is like a tree planted by the stream . . . he has no fear when heat comes . . . his leaves are always green . . . " (Jer. 17)
This will be our first Easter with Jordan. I am so excited for him to run like a penguin (He really does run like a penguin. Wish you could see it. Hilarious.) through our back yard to find as many eggs as he can (he will be competing with Halle and Jayce . . so this could be interesting). I can't wait for him to hold up his first-found Easter egg with great delight at his discovery and then place it carefully in his Easter basket before continuing the hunt (wait a second . . . he will have that egg open and destroyed in no time).
Anyways, about that Easter basket filled with eggs . . .
I often think of our HOPE that way. I feel like we all run around looking for HOPE in this life. HOPE in building our savings accounts, HOPE in finding the right mate, HOPE in having children, HOPE in whatever it may be. Once we've found that HOPE, we then place it in our basket and we label it, "My Treasure Basket." Great, huh?
Great until the basket breaks . . . or starts to fall apart with wear and tear . . . or gets old because it's from the early 90's . . .
So, what if we put all of our HOPE (aka eggs) in a new basket? One that never wears out or grows weary of holding our HOPE?
What if we made a conscience decision every morning that we would put all of our HOPE in one basket that day, all of our CONFIDENCE in Jesus, the ONE who never runs dry?
I love the above verse because I'm reminded that GOD IS ABLE. Just when "heat" comes in my life, my stream of living water, Jesus, provides my every need and keeps me going.
This Scripture carried me through 4 years of pregnancy blues.
This Scripture continues to carry me through times of worry, fear, doubt, and whatever other lies the enemy may try to throw my way.
I hope that this post encourages you to consider putting all of your eggs in one basket today. Friends, putting our HOPE in Christ alone will never leave us dissatisfied. Our basket will ALWAYS be full . . . no matter the circumstances.
Love you all!
