Fridays have always been "Dr. Pepper Day" in my world. I cannot even describe to you the pure joy of driving through Sonic on a Friday afternoon and ordering a "cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper with plenty of ice!" That very first drink is maybe even better than a fresh brownie straight from the oven. Maybe.
Now, I don't drink DP (or any other caffeine) the rest of the week because I CAN'T SLEEP. Caffeine has always affected me this way, so the only justification I make for having it on Fridays is that the next day is a weekend, and if I'm miserable from no sleep the night before, Nate is home to help me with a wild 2 year old. :) Brilliant... I know.
However.... something is lately challenging my "Friday only" rule for the DP.
His name is Jordan.
... and he's 2...
...and perhaps has more cooped-up energy than a Jack Russel Terrier puppy ...
...and is ALL BOY...
...and is maybe more curious than Curious George himself....
...and is a master of asking questions.....
....and more questions...
....and more questions....
Maybe this is why my Friday DP rule needs to take a back seat for the next year or so.
I NEED SOME CAFFEINE, PEOPLE!!!!
And, who is to say that when Baby Head arrives I'm actually going to get much sleep anyways...caffeine or not?
Yep, pretty sure this tired momma is ordering herself a DP tomorrow at Sonic....
... and it's only Monday.

I hear you loud and clear my friend! I tried to cut back on Diet Coke for a while, but with a busy preschool boy and a newborn in the house...we buy it in bulk at Costco :)
Oh, how I wish we could put our two wild, curious boys in a fenced in backyard for a few hours...every.single.day. I think they'd be great friends...or at least wear each other out!! I feel ya! You'll do great...it's exhausting, for sure!
I hear you girl! I tried and it didn't work and made me constantly cranky. Drinking a Dr. Pepper right now and its only 7 am but the thought of a Sonic DP sounds wonderful and I just might have to do that later today. I love seeing that I'm not the only one dealing with a non-stop, curious little boy. So fun and so exhausting! I would say when baby #2 comes you better allow yourself at least another Sonic day.
