Can I just encourage you today with something?

You are not alone in feeling defeated. You are not alone in feeling like you totally dropped the ball. You are the not the only one expecting an email from God that says, "Thanks for trying, but you really stink at this following Jesus thing, and I'm going to kick you off of the team now." You are not alone, friend. You are not the only one feeling disconnected. I promise.

Today I am so thankful for a God that doesn't treat us as our sins and selfishness deserve. I am so thankful that God doesn't dish out his love and faithfulness based on our works. I am so thankful today for a God who is slow to anger and abounding in love.

I am so thankful for my Gardner and the Vine that connects me to Him.

So, if you are feeling in any way defeated, overwhelmed, forgotten, disconnected, please know that one, you are not alone, and two, the Vine is waiting.

Reconnect. Slow down. Let your roots sink into His Word, His creation, His presence.

This morning I finally had some peace and quiet to do just this, to reconnect with Him.

And boy do I feel better. :)

He's not kidding when He says, "Apart from me you can nothing."

Before this morning, I could barely breathe, I felt so empty.

Thank you, Jesus, for connecting us to God, the One who can truly save and satisfy us.
